Sculptor: José Luis Santes, Release year 2016,
Lladró has borrowed inspiration from the opening song of Chicago, Bob Fosse’s mythical musical, to create one of the most energetic pieces in its catalogue. The sculpture is decorated with the most vibrant colors in its palette: deep black, chic purple, sophisticated make-up and the reddish tone of the dancer’s hair that gives her such a bold look. But if there is one thing that characterizes this form of dance, then that is the dancers’ movements: the torso, legs, arms, hands, shoulders … the whole body conveys emotions in a piece inviting us to step out on the dance floor.
